Corridor test is a quick and cheap method of usability testing in which people are asked to try using the product or service to find the barriers.

This may seem a bit tricky as it requires the participation of users who are willing to participate in the test and having specific behavior. Corridor testing is only used when most of the product has been completed, because only by this time can the entire product give a relatively complete experience:

  1. Won't uncover all the problems
  2. You’re limited by the people who are walking nearby
  3. Some people may not be willing to help
  4. Unhonest answers and results
  5. Bad observer effect
  6. Wrong representation
