Many designers are too focused on the industry standards, not primarily around design quality but design flow. The consensus is that you need to storyboard and wireframe your design first. While it is important, especially in UI/Web design, to focus on the flow and minimizing user interaction prior to the end goal. It is equally important to find something that works for you.
Take the time to focus on what makes you better but different as a designer, whether in marketing, illustration, or web-based applications. Don’t get caught up in how everyone else does it. Focus on what works best for you and what keeps you passionate. Don’t exhaust yourself where you don’t need to, and create your own processes.
